Due to its increased business, Adria Airways has added another airplane to its fleet. It has recently signed a lease agreement with Ukraine International Airlines for a Boeing 737-500 with 112 seats. The plane will be flown by Ukrainian pilots; the Adria Airways cabin crews will staff its routes within two weeks. Ukraine International Airlines meets all the European standards and, like Adria Airways, holds the international IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) Registration, which regulates flight safety, operation procedures and organization as well as company security. Adria Airways has leased the plane for a one-year period; the plane will be flying to all Adria’s destinations, starting on 6 April. For the summer season, the leasing of another plane of the same type is planned for a six-month period.
Like other airlines, Adria Airways introduced a summer flight schedule at the end of March, which will be valid till the end of October. As scheduled destinations, it offers some 20 flights a week to 21 airports in 17 European countries. At the end of April, it will also introduce a new flight to Tirana, and in May to Rome and Barcelona. Its charter flight programme, however, offers numerous holiday destinations in the Mediterranean and North Africa.
