Explanation of Adria Airways with regard to the media news concerning a potential inclusion of Adria Airways on the black list of European airlines
Adria Airways business operations comply with European standards of control and quality
Adria Airways wishes to comment upon the false and misleading statements published in some media, namely that the company is threatened to be included on the black list of European airlines.
Adria Airways business operations entirely comply with EU demands. Moreover, Adria Airways meets all the safety and quality standards provided by the European legislation for aircraft operators and aircraft owners. Adria Airways constantly monitors the changes and development of the regulations in the field of civil aviation safety. This facilitates a timely adjustment to new regulations as well as elimination of possible discrepancies and irregularities.
The issue of the lack of harmonization with the European directives regulating this field, has only been raised on the level of Slovene legislation. However, with the adoption of The Aviation Safety Programme of the Republic of Slovenia, and the new Aviation Act, which has been submitted for parliamentary review, this issue is finally being regulated as well.
Last month, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted The Aviation Safety Programme of the Republic of Slovenia and thus complied with the obligations of the Republic of Slovenia under Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No. 2320/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council, concerning the laying down of rules in the field of civil aviation safety. In order to settle individual matters more systematically, the Ministry of Transport suggested some amendments to the Aviation Act, with the purpose of fully harmonizing the details of the implementation of the Slovene regulations with those of the EU as regards civil aviation safety as well as air safety and air traffic control in the single European sky. In the process of implementing the EU regulations, it has been established that there are some differences between the regulations of the Republic of Slovenia and those of the EU, concerning nomotechnical solutions and details on regulation, tasks of competent authorities, pursuit of technical progress and scientific results, and sharing the responsibility for air traffic security, which all causes confusion in the implementation of the Slovene and European provisions. The new Aviation Act, submitted for parliamentary review, finally regulates this area.
In view of the above, there are no grounds for introducing of any kind of procedures against the Republic of Slovenia, which all confirms the conformity and safety of Slovene airspace as well as of all aviation service providers and users.
